February 2010
A belated happy new year to everyone! It's been a busy few months with a couple of design projects, however this has not stopped me exploring a few new themes and passions in the studio. I have been exploring the River Thames, walking, bus -catching and boat taking, looking at some of the beautiful industrial buildings and structures along the way, and trying to find new ways to depict them. Many are slowly rusting away, others have been faithfully restored. I am keen to record as much of our industrial urban heritage while it is still here.. wish me luck!
Other news: My Nepal painting was auctioned at the RGS, and rasied £500 for Porters Progress, a big thank you to everyone who took part.
December 2009 Back in the studio painting now. More info to follow

June 2009
Well I don't know where the last three months went! However, it's been productive, with a few pictures of my recent trip to China, exploring Hong Kong by night, and a few pictures closer to home.. ..over the road from our home in fact. I am interesting in capturing night and dusk and exploring shadows further to see what lurks in there. I'm planning a short trip to India in July, so a different inspiration from there probably too. I am also hoping to arrange an exhibition very soon, so I'll keep you posted! Thanks for visiting LW 08/06/09
March 2009
A busy month! My first mountain picture is included in Spaces & Narrations an exhibition by ISD staff at Chelsea College of Art. I shall be displaying several more pictures at The Best of Kendal Mountain Film Festival at the Royal Geographical Society - London on 24th March, in preparation for a fund raising event in aid of portersprogress.org a charity supporting the Porters in Nepal. Tickets can be booked at: www.worldexhibitions.co.uk
Finally I am off to China at the end of the month for a project, so expect more to follow soon.
Feb 2009 I'm still in the studio, working to the two key themes, I'm also trying to work at a fairly large scale, with 1m square canvasses, so rapidly running out of space. I entered the Saatchi Online galleries showdown, but didn't make the final round, thanks to all those that voted for me. I may have another go in a couple of months. Thanks for looking.
Jan 2009 Happy New Year to everyone! Firstly, a big thank you to all those who have signed my guestbook, it's great to get a bit of feedback as to what I'm doing/ what I've done. I'm currently busy in the studio working on two specific themes; depictions of trees and mountains, being my current and fairly long term obsessions. It's early days, and pictures are still subject to change as I work further into the themes. All going well I hope to be able to exhibit some of my work in the Spring. Best wishes and thanks for visiting. Luke W - 02/01/09
