Welcome to 'Lukescape' the virtual gallery for Luke M.Walker's paintings.

A qualified Interior & Spatial Designer and Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art & Design, Luke has been painting, exhibiting and selling landscapes, working mainly in Oils, for twenty years. He has recently chosen to focus on painting to express his understanding of the spaces around him.
As an accomplished climber and mountaineer, Luke has travelled extensively around the high places of Britain, Europe and the Himalayas, and this has influenced much of his work.
His love for the built environment has also led to paintings that explore the negative spaces, and dark corners of the world, both inside and outside.

More recently, Luke has returned very much to home, and to Battersea, with several paintings of The River, the Power Station, and local vistas which play a part in his every day journeys around the city. He is currently exploring themes of regeneration, looking at particular London sites in a state of flux, trying to capture them before they change forever.
Following a very succesful and well received solo exhibition in Battersea, London in 2009, Luke is currently looking for further opportunities to present his work to a wider audience.
